Alex Hsiao

Alex is Head of Asset Allocation and a Lead Portfolio Manager at Rayliant Global Advisors, joining the firm as Affinity Investment Advisors combined with Rayliant in December 2024. With over 20 years of institutional investment management experience, Alex’s expertise in early-stage investing, dynamic asset allocation, building diversified investment portfolios, providing outsourced customized solutions, and product development enhances Rayliant’s ability to deliver tailored solutions to clients. He also serves as a strategic advisor to many of the firm’s clients.

Prior to joining Rayliant, Alex held a similar role at Affinity Investment Advisors. Before that, he was the Chief Investment Officer at Progress Investment Management Company, where he oversaw and managed the firm’s multi-asset platform of fund-of-funds strategies and institutional investor relationships across asset classes including global equity, fixed income, venture capital, and hedge funds. Alex was a member of the Management Committee and served as Chair of the Investment Committee at Progress. His earlier experience includes serving as Chief Investment Officer for The California Endowment and as Vice President at Bankers Trust Company in Hong Kong.

Alex earned an M.B.A. from the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine, and a B.S. from the University of California, Davis.
